Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and MB “Jambo Grupė”, a small partnership registered in Lithuania, company code 303081220, registered office Sausio 13-osios g. 2, Vilnius, Lithuania (“we”, “us”), when you use myspeakingbuddy. Questions: hello@myspeakingbuddy.com.

What the service is

myspeakingbuddy gives you spoken English practice with an AI conversation partner (“Sage”). Sage is an AI: it is designed to be a patient practice companion, not a source of professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise), and like all AI it can make mistakes. Use your judgement.

Your account

Membership, trials, and billing

Your 14-day right of withdrawal

As an EU consumer you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason. By starting your trial you ask us to begin the service immediately. We keep this simple: if you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, email us and we'll refund that payment in full. (During the free trial itself, cancelling costs nothing anyway.) To withdraw, cancel in Settings → Manage billing, or email hello@myspeakingbuddy.com.

Fair use

“Unlimited conversations” means unlimited normal personal practice. We may throttle or suspend accounts that abuse the service — for example automated access, reselling, or usage patterns far outside individual learning.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to generate or pursue abusive, unlawful, or harmful content, to harass others, or to attempt to break, probe, or overload the infrastructure. We can suspend accounts that do.

Your content and data

Your conversations are yours. We store transcripts and learner memories to make the product work, as described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms. You can delete your data as described there.

Service changes and availability

myspeakingbuddy is in active development (beta). Features may change, and we don't promise uninterrupted availability. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give paying members reasonable notice and not charge beyond that point.

Liability

To the extent the law allows: the service is provided “as is”, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protections of your home country's consumer law. If we can't resolve a dispute together, consumers may contact the Lithuanian State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (vvtat.lt) or the consumer protection body in their own country.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
